Picture Framing

The two pictures that I framed - one is some bizarre sand-art portait, and the other a photograph of a child from around 1930, according the back of the print.

I've been helping out at a picture framing shop recently (Art of Framing, Nantwich - www.artofframing.co.uk), and up until today, only being doing front of house jobs, such as helping customers, taking new jobs, tidying up etc. However, due to an unforeseen circumstances, Mark, the framer has had to take a few days off work, leaving me in charge of the shop. This obviously means he can't be making any frames, and so I took it upon myself to put a few together myself. The frame was already cut to size, I was only required to measure and cut the mounts, an attach the print to the mountboard, the way I had been shown.Taking my time over it, as the job was quite a costly one, I got it all together ready for collection for the customer who needed it within the following few days. Feeling rather proud of myself, I completed two jobs as well as "steadying the ship" after a hectic couple of days for the business.
University-wise, everything is as good as done. My work has all been handed in, my exhibition is all hung and ready for assessment, which is in the morning (Thursday - just a few hours away!) and then I am officially completed in terms of work - it's out of my hands from then on. All the time and effort I've put in, I believe should earn me a decent grade, which I expect to find out in around 4/5 weeks from now.
The exhibition, Impression Eleven, showcases a variety of photographic projects from around thirty students, and opens on Friday 10th June at the College Road Campus of Staffordshire University in Stoke.
