London

I'm not a fan of London at all, but I visited last week to go round some of the galleries, and actually found it quite an interesting place, particularly at night. After the sun had gone down, I played around with a couple of long exposures by simply resting my camera on walls and using the self-timer, having no tripod with me.There were dozens of photographers out there, and understandably so because it's a fantastic spectacle -incredible architecture, lots of activity, and lots of lights which will help exposures - there's not an awful lot of completely dark areas as you're never too far from some source of light in the city.
Here's one of my favourite images from the day, looking over towards St Paul's Cathedral. The movement in the river is a nice contrast to the vibrance of the city behind, and the exposure was easily controlled by the amount of lights dotted all over the bridge and buildings. The clouds reflected the lights from below which give some cloud detail in the sky, rather than a solid block of grey or black.
